From September 10th to 15th, 2025, the International Youth Training “Debating, Dialogue and Actionable Solutions” was successfully held in Kruševo, North Macedonia, as part of the TUNE 2025 Annual Plan.
The training was coordinated by United Societies of Balkans (USB) and hosted by CET Platforma Skopje (CET), gathering young participants and youth workers from across Europe. The activity aimed to strengthen debating, dialogue, and leadership skills, empowering participants to think critically, communicate effectively, and take action within their local communities.
Over the course of six intensive days, participants engaged in a variety of interactive workshops, debate simulations, and public speaking exercises, all rooted in non-formal education and experiential learning. The programme included sessions on critical reasoning, rebuttal techniques, logical fallacies, and constructive dialogue, as well as practical training in two major debate formats — the World Schools Debate Championship (WSDC) and British Parliamentary (BP) styles.
In addition to developing communication and analytical skills, participants worked in teams to design their own Local Action Plans, outlining future initiatives to be implemented in their communities after the project.
Beyond the workshops, the training also fostered intercultural understanding and cooperation, providing a platform for young people from diverse backgrounds to exchange experiences and ideas on how dialogue and democratic participation can lead to inclusive and sustainable change.
The activity concluded with a final reflection and presentation of the results, leaving participants motivated, inspired, and equipped with tools to use debate and dialogue as instruments for positive community transformation.
