Five representatives from North Macedonia participated in the youth exchange “Dream Big“, which took place from the 6th to 13th of March 2022 in El Palmar de Vejer, Spain.
This project was about how sports and entrepreneurship are connected. Sports are an important part of people’s lives just as much as entrepreneurship. In this project, we learned everything about football and basketball, also some extra sports like surfing and boxing. Through team-building activities, we improved our communication skills and team play tactics. From the entrepreneurship part, we learned about successful business structures and improving and expanding your own business through acting and debating.
The camp where we stayed was in a very pretty village called El Palmar de Vejer, near Conil de la Frontera, near the ocean, which we found perfect to do some of the exercises on the beach. Participants were from North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, the Czech Republic, Greece and Spain. The organization that hosted us – K’MON was very well organized and creative. In the evenings we had intercultural nights. To taste the national food and hear about different cultures was like going to each one of the countries. Learning new facts through Kahoot quizzes was a great way of learning new information about a specific country.
On the first day, we got to know each other and played many games to learn the names of the participants. We did an exercise where you throw a volleyball at a person while yelling their name. It was a fun activity that helped us to remember the names. After that in order to name a group leader, we played a game where one by one we were blindfolded and had to walk through obstacles just by following directions from a team leader(participant) we chose. Then we proceeded with making the basic rules for “living together” for 7 days. The best rule was “Smile and be positive all the time”.
Finally, every country had to represent its own non-governmental organization they were coming from. We, the Macedonian team, represented CET Platforma. We developed a number of strong friendships with all of the participants. Nobody was excluded. It was so fun to play all the sports and act as successful entrepreneurs. Until we meet again <3
