The “My active citizenship in the European Union” event held in Sunny Beach, Bulgaria was an absolutely incredible experience for us. We had meaningful discussions about important topics like COVID-19, the migration crisis, and global warming, just like real politicians in the European Parliament. During the event, we were split into groups representing different political parties, and we worked together to come up with ideas and proposals on these pressing issues. It felt like we were in a simulation of the real decision-making process. We talked, negotiated, and found compromises to present our party’s ideas while also considering what would be best for the European Union as a whole.
One of the most exciting parts was when we visited the Burgas municipality building. We had the chance to take part in a local session and see firsthand how decisions are made at the local level. It was amazing to realize that our involvement could directly impact our communities and influence the policies that are implemented.
But it wasn’t all serious discussions and governance. The event organizers also ensured that we had moments of fun. From team-building exercises to interactive games, these activities allowed us to unwind, connect with fellow participants, and forge lasting friendships. Laughter and shared experiences added to the overall positive atmosphere of the event.
