Check out some memories and shots from the Erasmus+ youth exchange “Building Peaceful Bridges Together”, that took place in Smolyan, Bulgaria from 22nd to 29th of March 2023 on which we have sent 5 representatives.
The context of the project was analyzing the concept of “conflict transformation”. The focus was on the efforts of young people who face cultural differences, social inequalities, stereotypes or hatred to help them understand the best way to resolve the conflict and build a peaceful and sustainable dialogue. Participating countries were part of the process of internal and external conflicts and struggle for independence (the dispute over the name of Macedonia with Greece, the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the two conflict areas in Georgia – Abkhazia and Samakablo, Ukraine – Russia’s conflict over Crimea and Donbas , historical dispute between Bulgaria and Macedonia).
Through the implementation of this project, we seek to learn impactful stories across cultural and social conflicts in European societies. We will review the content and follow the impact of international conflicts on young people, transforming their perceptions and attitudes into the idea of creating peaceful societies and understanding between different countries.
The project was attended by 35 youth workers, youth leaders and volunteers from Macedonia, Bulgaria, Armenia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Greece.
