In the picturesque region of Borje, Pelješac, Croatia, a remarkable project on green entrepreneurship unfolded, brought to life by the Pozitiva Samobor NGO. This initiative aimed to empower participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to embark on eco-friendly business ventures, blending theoretical insights with hands-on experiences. Our journey into the world of sustainable entrepreneurship included workshops that delved into the intricacies of crowdfunding, exploring innovative national eco-startup ideas, and learning the essential do’s and don’ts of starting a company in today’s eco-conscious market.
One of the most valuable aspects of the project was the opportunity to engage with established green companies. Through practical workshops, we gained firsthand insights into their journeys—what it takes to build a sustainable business and the challenges they face. The discussions provided invaluable lessons for anyone aspiring to enter the green business space.
Amid these learning experiences, we also had the chance to immerse ourselves in the local culture and environment. A free day led us to the charming island of Korčula, where we enjoyed a delightful lunch by the sea, followed by a visit to a local Wine Museum. Here, we sampled wines from a family-run winery, witnessing how local producers uphold sustainable practices while maintaining rich traditions.
A highlight of the trip was our involvement in the olive harvest with a local family, a grounding reminder of the importance of supporting local agriculture. This experience even caught the attention of Slobodna Dalmacija, a regional newspaper, which featured our efforts in their publication.
Beyond the educational aspects, the project fostered an incredible sense of community. Intercultural nights brought together participants from diverse backgrounds, creating a space for friendship, cultural exchange, and shared fun—an essential part of any Erasmus+ project.
Overall, this was an unforgettable experience that offered a deep dive into green entrepreneurship, combined with creative exploration, meaningful cultural exchanges, and lifelong memories.
