I would like to start my resume of this Training Course by saying how grateful I am to have been a part of such a lovely project. Even though it was a 10 day project, time flew by quite fast because of how much fun we had participating in this event. Everyone felt included and everyone enjoyed it greatly.
We had different groups from different countries, yet everyone felt seen and everyone had fun. We were a group of 70 people consisting of a Youth Exchange and a Training Course. The countries that participated were: North Macedonia, Turkey, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Italy.
Every group had the opportunity to showcase their traditional dances, games and songs in the intercultural nights that were separated in to three different nights, consisting of a theme for every night. We had the lovely opportunity to learn some of the traditional dances of every country, as well as to teach them some of ours. Everyone was glad to watch me and my sister dance the “Pajdushko Oro” in traditional clothes, as well as learn how to dance it in a different activity where we were teaching everyone our dances.
The main focus of this project was to prepare the group for the Balloon Gathering Festival that takes place in Fragneto Monforte every year. We were separated into groups of three(music, dance and street art) , where every group was taught what will they do during the parade, as well as the individual performances of each country. We visited Fragneto for three days (back and forth) and we preformed on the parade for the people that came to enjoy the festival.
It was overall a lovely project that made everyone feel more connected with their artistic side, as well as be more appreciative of their own culture and tradition.
