Nature is a part of everyone’s day to day lives and it’s very important because it provides our primary resources for living like clean water, air, food etc. The Erasmus project “Growing Up Your Nature”, helped us view new ways of how to be more sustainable and how to change some lifestyle habits that we have.
An example of this is when one of our workshops was how to have a healthier lifestyle by what food we consume every day, what physical activities we do throughout the day, how much time we should sleep and many other things. To show what we had learnt that day we had another workshop where we had to make healthy meals which checked off all the nutrients we needed to maintain a balanced diet.
One of our most interesting workshops was “The Treasure Hunt” where we installed an application on our phone, solved tasks and got rewarded points for each task we did. Our challenges consisted of riddles, finding hints, QR Codes all around the city and the final one was to climb an old castle – the most challenging out of all. The adventure itself wasn’t just about having fun; it was also a chance to get to know each other better. These shared experiences created lasting memories and left a mark on our journey together.
The intercultural nights hosted by participants from Romania, Croatia, Macedonia, and Slovakia showcased their various traditions, cuisines, and artistic expressions from each country. Romania amazed us with its folklore dances and savory dishes like sarmale and mămăligă, offering a view into its rich cultural heritage.
Croatia brought to life the rhythms of the Adriatic coast, with lively klapa singing and captivating performances of traditional kolo dances.
Macedonia, equipped with its mix of Balkan influences, presented wonderful performances of traditional music and dance. Our biggest enjoyment was the food, such as lokum ajvar, smoki etc.
Slovakia enchanted with its enchanting folk melodies and colorful folk costumes, transporting attendees to the heart of Central Europe.
Overall, the intercultural nights served as a celebration of diversity and unity, fostering cross-cultural understanding and friendship among us.
