Sincere appreciation to United Societies of Balkans for hosting the General Assembly and Networking event of the Transnational United Network in Europe (TUNE) in Thessaloniki, Greece, from the 5th to 7th of November 2024.
TUNE Network represents a network of 18 partner organizations from 16 European countries, coordinated by United Societies of Balkans, who share the values of empowering youth to be active citizens in democratic life, promotion of voluntarism and social inclusion with support of Erasmus+ programme and European Solidarity Corps.
During the General Assembly the partners had the opportunity to assess the results from the activities implemented in the previous year and to develop new project ideas addressing youth engagement in democratic life ensuring the sustainability of the network and promoting sustainability through youth political participation.
We also discussed actions for the next year of its operation which will emphasize the participation of young people in decision-making processes. The Tune Network program for 2025 aims to empower youth to advocate for sustainability through political engagement. It begins with training youth workers as mediators to guide young people on sustainable community planning and political participation. These mediators will then facilitate local debates, enabling youth to discuss sustainability issues and practical solutions for their communities. Participants will collaboratively develop local sustainability action plans that outline steps to address key issues identified in the debates. Finally, youth groups will present these action plans to local and EU authorities to seek support for implementation. Together with all the partner organizations we did a proper SWOT analysis and together we talked about future implementations of this programme.
TUNE Network is co-funded by the EU.
