My experience participating in the TC “Stories for Life: Deep Listening Skills for Embracing Cultural Diversity” training course at the ASHA Centre was nothing short of exhilarating. The program’s focus on developing listening skills and cultural empathy through the art of storytelling proved to be a transformative experience.
Particularly noteworthy was the program’s emphasis on each participant choosing a story from their cultural or heritage background, which served as the central focus throughout the course. This approach provided a unique opportunity to gain insight into the diverse cultures and traditions of my fellow participants, while deepening my connection to my own cultural roots.
Throughout the course, we were tasked with discovering symbols and exploring our internal selves, a process that yielded profound results. I found that this approach not only enriched my understanding of other cultures, but also helped to cultivate greater empathy and respect for those who hold different perspectives.
The trainers were outstanding, demonstrating an impressive depth of knowledge and passion for the program’s objectives. They created a supportive and stimulating learning environment, where the participants felt motivated to learn and to explore new ideas.
In conclusion, my experience in the TC “Stories for Life: Deep Listening Skills for Embracing Cultural Diversity” training course was enlightening and rewarding. I emerged from the program with a renewed appreciation for cultural diversity, and equipped with practical tools to become a more empathetic listener. I highly recommend this program to those seeking to expand their cultural horizons and hone their listening skills.
