“Remote Control – Digital Youth Work” is an Erasmus+ project that includes two mobility activities, both take part in the beautiful small town of Trikala in central Greece. The first mobility activity – training course named “NGO’s Online” was organized from 1st until 10th of November and the second part will take place in February of 2022. 10 amazing days were used wisely for learning about digital tools, different social media platforms and ways on how to promote our NGOs, ideas and future businesses with their help while getting tips and tricks on how to use them effectively. This project has eight partner countries and organizations coming from North Macedonia, Greece, Croatia, Italy, Cyprus, Poland, Romania and Portugal.
As the technology develops further, our goal to learn more about it increases. The three of us, Igor Trajkov, Drilon Saliu and Mihaela Rzhanikoska arrived in Trikala, rain and coldness were present in the air but that quickly changed when we started meeting the rest of the participants and hosts where their warm smiles melted our hearts. We were willing to learn more and increase our digital competences while hiding the excitement in our eyes.
As young youth workers during this training course we participated in various workshops that provided knowledge and practices about: WordPress, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, photography, video making, video editing, branding, logo and motto making, Digital Management of NGOs, Digital Marketing, tools, ways and methods. We learned how to properly advertise, promote, create web pages, post, use hashtags and help our NGOs grow and be present on social media and use digital tools. This training course thought us about the importance of social media and how powerful these platforms really are.
The evenings were reserved for intercultural nights, board games and a pub quiz. We had two intercultural evenings where we presented our traditional drinks, foods, dances and fun facts about each country. Our team brought some homemade ajvar, rakija, national sweets and cheeses.
On the ninth day we learned about the Erasmus+ program, how to take part of it and how it changes our lives. And it is true. This experience changed us forever. Not only we understood the better and deeper meaning of social media and digital tools we also made friendships for a lifetime, we learned expressions in different languages, we shared positivity, hugs, pure love, knowledge and ideas that will be stuck with us and help us grow into better individuals. Thank you friends, till next time!
