The training course „Let’s map it” where three people from Macedonia participated, took place in Knared, Sweden from the 10th to the 17th of September 2021. There were also participants from Sweden, Italy, Ukraine.
“It was so interesting for me to meet so many new people from other countries and other cultures. I learned so much from them about their cultures, way of life and how to make their traditional food.
For me it was impressive seeing that people in Sweden recycle and sort everything. They are really organized and compared to Macedonia it looked like they are living in a virtual reality because everything was so clean. To see that Macedonia has also great landscapes and cities, and the same potential as Sweden, I realized that it’s the people who make the country. I wish one day we follow Sweden’s example and make everything clean and don’t throw thrash everywhere.
At the project, we played various games to get to know each other, connect with each other. We also visited Laholm, a place near Knared that was considered as a rural area. It made no sense to me because everything was great and even the most beautiful cities in Macedonia can’t compare with this place. It was an eye-opening experience that we need to do something to our big cities to clean them and also to promote our rural areas and use the potential Macedonia is having.
Also, the best part about this project is trying everyone’s traditional dishes. I fell in love with the Italian food but still nothing is compared with our traditional food Ajvar.
This was a great and productive experience for me. I learned and gained a lot of knowledge and ideas, especially about new cultures. We shared our experience and knowledge with our friends here in Macedonia and they wish to participate more in youth work and other Erasmus+ projects.
