The Training Course ‘Let Them Be Heard’ was the second activity for this Mobility of Youth Workers. It was held in Braga, Portugal from 12th – 20th February 2020. Three participants from our organization were working with other representatives from Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Spain.
In the first days of the project, we were working on getting to know each other, presenting our countries profiles, discussing for the problems youth and refugees have and what are the countries policies for them. We discussed the different types of conflicts and how can we resolve them.
In the second part of the project, we learned about Forum Theater, how it appeared, how it developed throughout the years, who is the main target and what is the impact of the Theater.
After developing characters and writing scripts we were ready to present and act out our own examples of Forum Theater on different topics, such as: Human trafficking, Sexual Assault, Depression and Domestic Violence. These activities helped us to better understand how the Forum Theater can be used as a tool for Youth Work and how can we implement in our activities with local youth.
Special thanks to the organizers from Conexao Jovem (https://www.facebook.com/associacaoconexaojovem/) and all the participants that took part in the Training.
