From 1st to 10th of December 2021, three representatives from CET platforma took part in a Seminar “E-Participation: Involved & Informed: Exploring E-Participation“, organized by InterCollege ApS, held in Slettestrand, Denmark.
The aim of this seminar was to support youth workers with strengthening practices they already apply and developing new ones to engage young people in meaningful online dialogues and actions. The purpose was for youth workers to inspire young people in using the internet as responsible citizens, who want to have a direct contribution and impact in the society.
The seminar was attended by 22 participants and youth workers from Spain, North Macedonia, Croatia, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Estonia and Denmark. The workshops used many different methods such as: brainstorming, SWOT analyses, non-formal educational methods, creative problem-solving techniques, discussions etc.
During our stay in Denmark what is worth mentioning is our trip to Aalborg, where we had a meeting with the UN Youth Association (UNYA) from whom we have learned a lot of new information. We had a presentation about the main goals of the organization such as the climate change, human rights, gender equality, and most importantly about the role of the United Nations and their missions both in the world and in Denmark.
As youth workers during this seminar, we participated in various workshops that provided practical knowledge about:: creating profiles on Twitter, spreading news about the climate changes using popular hashtags, making various poles , interacting with other accounts and making a debate, creating profiles on Instagram and Tiktok as the most popular platforms to share important messages viral.
The evenings were reserved for quizzes, documentary movies and Intercultural night. In the Intercultural night each county presented their traditional food and drinks and their traditional dance. It was really amazing to see all these cultures mixed up together in one night.
We have made lifetime friendships, improved our language skills, broadened up more our horizons, every day was fulfilled with so many activities which made this seminar an amazing and unforgettable experience.
Just as the photos can’t fully capture our feelings, nor any of these words can’t fully describe what this experience really meant for me. Finally, I would like to just say: this is not a goodbye, it’s simply till we meet again somewhere.
Thank you, my friends, and till the next one!
