From August 18th to August 23rd, 3 representatives from CET Platform Macedonia took part in a Training Course ” Either Innovate or Disappear” which was organized by OMU PROJECT & INNOVATION YOUTH GROUP, held in Samsun, Turkey. The aim of this training course was to contribute to the development of innovative individuals by increasing the knowledge, skills and competencies of young people on the basis of the aim of the Information Economy.
The course was attended by 27 participants and youth workers from Portugal, Spain, Romania, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Macedonia and Turkey. This project included general, social and cultural topics. The workshops used many different methods such as: Brainstorming, Creative problem solving techniques, Morphological Analysis, Biomimicry, Mind Mapping, Six hats method, Fishbone etc.
During our stay we had a visit to University which marked its 100th anniversary, the rector told us about the education systems and programs that this university offers. We also visited Atakum Municipality and had a visit with the mayor and deputy mayor of Samsun. After this we visited one of the largest companies in the industrial area of Turkey called “Sampa”, which not only it is spread throughout Turkey, but it is also a leading global manufacturer of commercial vehicle parts around the world. The last day we had a visit to Atakum Youth Centre, where a panel discussion was held by one representative of each country. We were talking about NGOs, youth activities and youth problems in our countries. Also worth mentioning is the City Bus Tour we had where we could see the bigger picture of Samsun.
During the project days, we had an intercultural night where every country was presented by its representatives. We tried various tastes of traditional drinks and food, tried traditional dances and played some quizzes, so we learned a lot about every country. To finalize, we have made lifetime friendships, widened our horizons, experienced different cultures, learned so many new things and improved our language skills which made this training course an amazing and unforgettable experience.
