From 3rd to 12th of March 2023, in Berlin, Germany, we have implemented the fifth and final learning mobility of the “Exodus” project under the skilfull coordination of our hosts Alrahallah Theater-Berlin. The training course named “Make theater, not War! focused on creativity, intercultural theater and art, non-formal education and expressing freedom of the body and imagination in a social context.
The training course improved the skills of participants related to theater, communication, creativity and body expression, inspiring them emotionally, physically and spiritually. The course provided space to practice methods and techniques of theater of the oppressed, improvisational and social theater. Participants had the opportunity to design, write and improvise stories as well as to transform them into action on social issues.
Participants have worked together to develop their creative processes and strived to create harmony between their experiences and what they have learned during the training course. The course showcased traditional and modern cultures and included youth workers who are active in social and cultural community work.
During the training course, participants also had the opportunity to explore Berlin’s history, it’s division after the Second World War and to reflect upon it in today’s terms.
This training course expressed the willingness of the project partnership to get to know and explore cultures, knowledge and Intercultural Art, realities of the participating countries & people representing respectively, Italy, North Macedonia, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and Germany.
The “Exodus” strategic partnership project aims at exchanging good practices in favor of migrants, political refugees, and asylum seekers. The project’s intervention area is to reinforce the key competencies of adult learners through inclusive activities such as art therapy, performing arts, volunteering, human rights campaigns, and digital media communication.
